IHG Opens First voco Resort in Quang Tri, Vietnam, Unlocking Gateway to the “Kingdom of Caves”

Asianaussiebusinesstimes | DONG HOI, Vietnam – Global hospitality leader IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially launched voco Quang Binh Resort by IHG, the first international resort in the Quang Binh–Quang Tri region and the second voco-branded property in Vietnam.

The opening marks a milestone for IHG in central Vietnam, as the brand expands beyond its urban footprint in Danang to embrace Vietnam’s rich natural landscapes. The all-suite-and-villa beachfront property offers a mix of modern comfort and local character, designed to appeal to travelers seeking a balance of relaxation and discovery.

A New Chapter for Quang Tri’s Tourism Landscape

Located in Dong Hoi, the resort introduces 68 spacious suites and beachfront villas, each spanning from 43 to 300 square meters. With its Indochine-inspired interiors, locally crafted décor, and abundant natural light, voco Quang Binh aims to create a sanctuary where guests can unwind while staying connected to the cultural and natural beauty of the province.

“This resort is more than just a place to stay – it’s a warm invitation to discover Quang Binh’s extraordinary charm,” said Clay Clayton, Cluster General Manager. “Our focus is on blending voco’s hallmarks of hospitality with Vietnamese touches, so every guest feels at home while being inspired by the destination.”

Guests checking in are welcomed with signature voco touches – a refreshing drink and sweet treat – embodying the brand’s “Come on in” spirit.

Relaxation Meets Discovery

Well-being is a central theme at the new resort. The Yen Spa & Wellness center features treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, Yin Yang foot spa, and salon services, making it a comprehensive retreat for body and mind. Guests can also take in the tranquil setting at the resort’s indoor and outdoor pools or enjoy cocktails at the Oasis Pool Bar while watching the sun dip over Bao Ninh beach.

Food lovers are catered to at Flamingo Restaurant, an all-day dining venue highlighting local Vietnamese specialties such as banh canh, Quang noodles, and Hue beef noodle soup, alongside international favorites.

A Gateway to the “Kingdom of Caves”

Beyond the resort, Quang Binh – often dubbed the “Kingdom of Caves” – offers an unmatched playground for adventure and nature tourism. From the awe-inspiring Son Doong Cave, the world’s largest, to the lush landscapes of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, the region is drawing increasing interest from global travelers.

Visitors can kayak on Mooc Spring, try Vietnam’s longest zipline, explore underground rivers, or relax along the 116-kilometer coastline with beaches like Nhat Le and Da Nhay. For cultural seekers, spiritual landmarks such as the Lieu Hanh Mother Temple provide a deeper connection to local heritage.

Strengthening Vietnam’s Global Hospitality Appeal

The debut of voco Quang Binh underscores IHG’s commitment to expanding its presence in emerging Vietnamese destinations, supporting the government’s goal of diversifying tourism beyond major cities. It also reflects rising traveler demand for unique experiences that combine wellness, culture, and sustainability.

With international connectivity improving and Vietnam continuing to be one of Asia’s fastest-growing tourism markets, industry analysts suggest the new resort could act as a catalyst for Quang Tri’s profile on the global travel map.

“Quang Binh has long been a hidden gem, but with the entry of a global brand like voco, it’s poised to see stronger visibility and higher visitor numbers,” said a regional hospitality consultant.

As the first international resort in the province, voco Quang Binh Resort by IHG is set to become both a destination in itself and a gateway to Vietnam’s most extraordinary natural wonders.Sources:
